Today's Topic: How to Successfully Study
No matter what test you're studying for, it is important to know which study methods and techniques work the best for you, and allow you to understand and retain the most material. This post will go over a few of my favorite methods that I'm excited to share with you!
One of my favorite methods is to find videos online that explain the topic that I am studying. For example, I'll find videos of teachers explaining math topics, with practice problems included, and this will help me review that topic in a way that does not take up too much time.
Another easy method that works especially well for vocabulary is using Quizlet. Their website allows you to customize a set of flashcards to study words and images and their definitions, and then you can use their Learn and Test features to review these flashcards, and then get tested on them.
Studying begins with your time in class, so make sure you are taking notes on any material that you will be tested on, and then when it is time to study at home, you can review your notes or even retake them, in order to review the material.
If you can teach someone else a topic, then you know it yourself, so another great method is to review material with friends. You can each take turns explaining an aspect of the topic, and that will show you how much you know of it. If there is anything that you do not understand, chances are, they might be able to help you out, and you can teach each other.
These methods can all help, but pick what works best for you depending on the format of the test and how you learn best!
